yes yes yes to all of this! i wrote about this recently but it takes work to make a critical assessment about any form of art and sometimes hating is the easy way out. unless it’s funny as hell then a lot more people will be open to hearing it 😂
I love this ! I think it’s very relatable. I also feel like I’ve been a hater, or at least judgemental when I didn’t need to be and it served no evolutionary benefit.
Interesting note - I once heard a study on the radio (may or may not be an accurate retelling) that said depressed people are better at catching mistakes and editing. I think about this and how it relates to critics.
